Cleaning Tips for When You Move Out

If you truly want your security deposit back, then you need to make sure it’s in better condition than when you moved in.We know, you’re already exhausted from the moving process and now you have to do some intense cleaning? Trust us, it’s worth it to put on those rubber gloves and make your apartment squeaky clean. Here are a few tips to get you started.

Start from the Top
Whether you’re cleaning the bedroom, hallways, or kitchen, start from the top. This will ensure that any dust or dirt won’t be able to escape. Start with lights and ceiling fans, not forgetting to get those pesky cobwebs up high in the corner! As you make your way down, clean the windows, baseboards and finally, the floor.

Leave the Bathroom for Last
It’s one of the areas that receives the most traffic and also an area that might require the most work. Bathrooms are notorious hotspots for dirt, grime, and buildup. When you’re done with faucets and cupboards, make sure to close the door to keep it off limits!

Take Pictures
When you’re finished attempting to put your apartment back into perfect condition, take pictures! Then, before you turn your keys in, do a walk-through with your landlord. Don’t be afraid to ask if there’s anything that might be taken out of your deposit. This way, you can try to fix these things before you turn in your keys.

What’s Happening in Your Neighborhood
